What is a demi bra?

Three-quarter cover for the open décolletage lover

A wardrobe staple, the demi is your versatile bra bestie with three-quarter cup coverage and a mid-point neckline. A demi can lend herself to a subtle lift that enhances your natural shape, while working with a variety of necklines for maximum wardrobe leverage. Clearly, the demi is a staple bra shape you want to get know. Intimately!

Demi fast five

1. Three-quarter cup coverage.

2. The low, often heart-shaped cup creates more cleavage than a full-coverage bra, but less than a balconette.

3. Perfect if your breasts are fuller on the bottom, as your demi will add shape to the top of your breasts.

4. If your natural breast shape is wider set, the demi cup can help to push the breasts inward for a fuller effect.

5. Our demi straps are centred to the cup, for even pull-up and longwearing comfort

Demi loves a daring décolletage.

A lover of low-cut tops and dresses with a flattering, rounded neckline, her cups are cut deeper than a full-coverage bra. Unlike full-coverage bras, you can confidently wear your demi with your favourite fashion necklines. With the top part of your breasts exposed, you have incognito support that offers a natural shape – minus the unsightly cup lines!

Demi delights in enhancing your natural shape.

The demi cup naturally lends herself to a subtle shape enhancement, especially with lined styles. This can create a natural fullness at the top of your breasts, making the demi a perfect choice for those who want a relaxed, yet slightly lifted look under clothing.

Demi pairs perfectly with…

Versatile, your demi is a dynamic duo with a variety of necklines and silhouettes.

- A demi is a staple t-shirt bra shape within our Invisibles range. Depending on your natural breast shape, your silhouette will comfortably sit with a demi or a balconette shape under for favourite tee. Shop our ultimate t-shirt bras.

- A demi is a flattering choice for tops or dresses with a lower neckline, delivering a subtle, natural lift without putting herself on display.

- A demi also loves to bring the cleavage drama when paired with a deep scoop, or v-neckline.

What is a demi bra vs push-up?

A demi bra is designed with ¾ cup coverage, offering a naturally enhanced breast shape with fullness in the centre of the breasts. Our demi bras are available unlined, lined and push up. Our push-up bras are designed with push-up padding for a voluminous bust boost, available in various shapes.

Who should wear a demi bra?

If you‘re fitted correctly and the shape suits your personal breast size and body type, then demi away! That said, your demi is especially suited to deep scoop or v-necklines, with side set, bell shape and teardrop breasts finding this shape especially flattering.

How should a demi bra fit?

Like all bras, your demi should fit your cups and underband with comfort and ease. Think of Goldie Locks, sizing shouldn’t be too small or too big. Check out our checklist for sizing that’s just right. When in doubt, check out our Bra Size Calculator.

Signs your bra is too small

- Gaping

- Red or irritated skin

- Dig-in caused by your straps or underwire

- Underband dig-in

- Neck, shoulder or back pain

- Lack of breast support

- Continuous bra adjustments

- Spillage.

Signs your bra is too big

- Breasts gone wild (excessive movement)

- Straps, wires and an underwire slip out of place

- Breasts don’t comfortably fill the cups

- Underband ride-up

- Lack of breast support

- Continuous bra adjustments

- Neck, shoulder or back pain

- Spillage.

Demi VS Balconette

Coverage: Demi bras have a slightly higher point where the strap meets the cup, creating the classic lower-cut demi neckline. Balconette bras have a wider point where the cup meets the strap, creating the classic straight balconette neckline.

Neckline: Demi lends herself to a rounded neckline, while a balconette has a straight neckline.

Straps. Demi straps are centred to the cup for easy, everyday wear. Balconette straps are wider set than a demi.

Breast shape. Demi styles offer a centrally fuller shape. Balconette styles offer a separated, upwards enhancement.

Always remember
